VTM by the sample preservation solution is not necessary to be inactivated before the extraction of nucleic acid because the sample preservation solution contains strong denaturant which can dissolve the virus protein, leading to the inactivation of the virus and loss of infectivity. The product has the ability to inactivate viruses (including influenza), bacteria (including tuberculosis bacteria), high-risk animal viruses (ASFV, CSFV, FMDV, HPAI, NDV) in the tube; The product also stabilizes RNA and DNA, providing a safer and more efficient condition for molecular test and sequencing. It is inactive enough for safe nucleic acid storage and transportation.

The freshly collected sample should be delivered to the laboratory within 48 hours. If used for virus nucleic acid test, they should be extracted and purified as soon as possible. If not delivered to the laboratory within 48 hours, they can be stored at room temperature (2-8 ℃) for 7 days. If stored for a long time, they should be stored at - 40 ~ - 70 ℃ (the time and conditions for stable storage should be verified by each laboratory according to its final experimental purpose).
